The first project we undertook for Writing 220 was an essay on why we wrote. We went through drafting, sharing, workshopping, editing, and revising to come up with a final essay that talks about our identities, our experiences, and our journeys that brought us to claiming the label "writer". The photo on my home page was taken in Portland, Maine during the school program that you'll hear about if you decide to read my essay. The trip was really meaningful to me, which you will come to find, which is why I included the picture as the first thing you see upon entering my ePortfolio.  My essay doesn't go into a lot of detail about the specific trip, but that picture was taken while eating great food and standing with great company on a beautiful afternoon, so it holds some happy memories for me.
